Aaah, Dunhill. It reeks of class and sophistication and truly stands out from the pack of petrol-grade designer brands that appear in most department stores. This one's a true winner and of all the scents I've ever tried, this one remains in my top three, along with Dunhill's "Original" eau de toilette, which is now sadly virtually impossible to find (believe me, I'm down to the dregs of my last bottle and am still looking).
Like its predecessor, Dunhill Edition is also now no longer produced, although they may be bringing it back. You can imagine my horror when in 2003, I was told that Dunhill Edition was no longer in production. I immediately called the company headquarters in Jermyn Street demanding an explanation, only to be told that the company who actually manufacture the stuff had gone bust. Disaster.
Fortunately, there's still a lot of stock out there, and we've found one of the few remaining distributors. Rumour has it that they'll be bringing it back, but is it worth taking the risk?
The fragrance is fresh and masculine, combining lemon and petitgrain with sage, bergamot, basil, cloves, cinnamon, cedar and sandalwood.
Trust us, Alfred knew what he was doing with this one. A true classic.
